So today I wanted to think back to the series but this time more about the characters and especially about "Alex".

Alex is the main character of the series and despite he sometimes shared the MC role with one or two of his versions he is still indeed the main character .

When Alex started his journey in "Happiness 1" he was nothing more than 17 years old depressed teenager. 

He would constantly try to escape life by napping in school and would brag about this hobby as if it's something more than a mean of escapism . 

Alex had no purpose in life , no goal, no   aspirations.

He was just living aimlessly as many of us are right now.

When Mirall showed up , at first she was nothing more than inconvenience to him but that quickly changed when Alex found in her something he never thought was possible " a purpose" ..." A reason to survive".

But I think what made Mirall extra special is that he finally found someone who he loved unconditionally and who loved him unconditionally.

In media these days romantic love is placed on a pedestal but in truth no romantic partner will ever love you if you don't bring something to the table wether it's good looks , money , an attractive personality or affections.

This is why romantic love can never be truly genuine no matter how hard movies and books try to convince you .

Alex realized that long ago so when faced with this new kind love ...this father-daughter love....this genuine love . That was the moment he found his"Happiness".

And even thought he struggled in the events after that . Even thought he fought in wars in his time in "Existence", even though he sustained many injuries including a permanent scar to his forehead ....he never complained.

The most cynical man is existence never complained.

If you have played until the end of the series then you would know how Alex's story ends.

Crawling desperately to the TSR but hopelessly failing to reach it m failing to see his daughter one final time.

This might seem like a sad ending or a bitter sweet ending but in reality it's not . It's a happy ending.

In his 29 years on this earth Alex achieved something most of us will struggle all our lives and never truly experience.

He achieved " True Happiness".
